The topic says refused renewal,so that implies its not been issued?

I'm guessing they haven't renewed due to then not being able to take back for a year.

They can issue for a lesser period - or up until the court case cant they?

They'll have to take on extra staff to deal with the complaints from other drivers seeing me batting around with out-of-date plates on! :D

Just do me one favour - if you do end up in court - get it in front of a proper judge and ask for case stated

I suppose so, but it's easier to not renew, rather than issue and revoke.

Mr Button covers it in his book - he says a council could issue the license pending the outcome of the appeal.

Indeed, the council should issue the plate pending appeal. I've now got some extra assistance from the LPHCA; the chairman has now sent a letter of support and has quoted the current LC summary at them.

They have removed the application forms that were online. My wife's was removed a few minutes ago. The BBC were going to run a story tonight but they have put it on hold due to Maggie dying. Last week it was the end of the Phillpot trial that delayed the story.
The vehicle information is still available at the moment, or it was when I last looked.

The story is running today. It was on the East Midlands news at 6.30 this morning. looking at it I think i need a haircut.
The council response on the TV this lunch time still seems to be defending them putting the information on the website.

Then why did they take it down? :?

Defo a case for the Information Commissioner.

Defo a case for the Information Commissioner.

I had a call earlier from BBC Radio Leicester to say that there was a new twist on the story for the 6.30 pm news.
Apparently the Information Commissioner has contacted all Councils to make them aware of the situation so it would seem that they are on the case.

Well then a lot of people have been helped by you, and they don't even know about it.

Well done. =D>

Back to the OP again, I've now had a demand from the magistrates for £200 to carry on with the appeal! That'll take another week or two of fares out of the system!

The licencing manager is sympathetic with my case but wonders why it's taken me so long to challenge the rules. Simples, I had a meeting with the chair of the licencing committee about a year ago, who arranged a meeting with the then LO who left, and hasn't been replaced. Oh the efficiencies of local government. (another of Maggie's abberations, district councils...)

Sign of the times.

There was a time when it was free.
