Time for you tumshies to put up with the threats or stop!

I've been threatened so much, it's no longer a threat. And when threatened I attack.

Tumshies like you are not even good at it. Criminals don't threaten. And those reading this will know. They just do the deed. Quietly. With no explanation. And all involved know what went down.

Like paint stripping someone's taxi for instance. It happens. We suspect we know who was responsible. And why.

Remember, whatever happens in our trade is the direct responsibility of City of Edinburgh Council, because of its policies.

And you know? I'm gonna beat the same old drum.

The inexorable rise in PH. Which some feel is associated with dubious backers. And which is distorting our market, with the acquiescence of our politicians.

The personal attacks on individuals seeking justice and equality.

The tension between PH and Hacks, a cabby now serving 15 years. All caused by the restriction of taxi licences.

If you want to control PH, then derestrict. Bring the hire car service back to the highest common denominator.

If you want to ensure competition in the taxi trade, the destruction, or at least weakening, of one of the city's biggest taxi companies, Central (and I can't believe I'm writing this), then we need to ensure that they are sufficiently robust to play a huge part in it. Although it hurts to say it, we need a strong CRT - preferably not with the current committee who seem to be putting self interest before the needs of the members/owners and the drivers. I, at least, am worried that the members are no longer in control of the company.

And, without a strong Central, and a Comcab that commercially seems to have gone to sleep, how can tendering for any contract by the remaining two commercial partners possibly be deemed kosher?

I'm not saying this is now. It could be the future.

We need de-restriction now more than ever.

Before its too late.

Did you post this whilst playing the worlds smallest violin????

Are you aware of the difference between an online forum with pseudonyms and real life??

You then go on to make some good points.

Do you ever think why there is such hostility to your ideas???

I think you're right. A radical change is needed to stimulate the trade. Whether that is derestriction or one company or whatever, change has to come. I feel its dying, slowly, under the weight of pressure from PHC,from dubious management, and a blinkered view from a lot of cabbies that think ,i"m ok, so everything is fine.
IT'S NOT ! From the Waverley to the Airport , we have been suckered and probably laughed at, by these big companies who see us as a an easy target, they can charge us as they like. Committees,i think, are losing sight that we need a strong trade, not just a strong company...there wont be a trade if drivers can't make a living.
All i want to see is a strong, healthy Hack trade, all pulling in one direction.
How we get there has been up for much debate with cabbies i know from all companies, from de-resriction to one company.
My, there is much to think about, what with us getting Independence and all that too.

Threats or attacks of any nature, disgust me.

jasbar if you are being threatened by people on here then report them to admin and following their laid down procedures will result in the culprits being banned. Also report such behaviour to Police Scotland as it can be treated as a crime now.
My only question is the method of posting you use. You attach a very important point ie threats made to you to a rehash of your many many well rehearsed and many times repeated views on the problems both politically and individually of the Edinburgh Taxi Trade.
Why not just do a thread on threats you have receuved both from members here and elsewhere of the forum?
I for one deplore that behaviour despite the verbal abuse and personal criticism of myself by two members on here

What would be the point of reporting threats?

LongshanksED has had any number of IDs. How many rebirths have you had?

And it is my views that are the problem, leading to the threats. because our trade is so mired in privilege and inequality it disses anyone who speaks against the selfish status quo.

And all the problems come back to one thing. Restricted licences.

Because that's what is causing the problems for drivers. They are denied their rights. They have nowhere to go, even if they wanted to, and I'm not certain many of them do, because there are some good owners out there who are honest with their drivers, respect them and work hand in hand with them. These guys would remain loyal whatever.

get this. There are only a few who post on this forum who care genuinely for the plight of drivers denied real access to the tools of their trade. And I'm one of them.

Everything I've ever written is not about me, except as part of the group who are being discriminated against, we serfs.

That's why I argue. And that's what you lot fear. We're for equality. You're for propping up illegal plate values and the business illusion that allows you to treat drivers like sh&te. Like serfs.

I hope you're proud.

Private hire are in abundance due to this nanny state, Immigrants welcomed in and handed it on a plate.
As previously said these individuals will work 24-7-52 for crumbs.
They come here already qualified to drive a phc, driving license.
So they come in ready to be exploited, cash cows.
We keep hearing phc banging on that theyre taxis, well its time to have taxi drivers in them.
I think the knowlege should now be applied to obtain phc licence, or one licence covers all.

You would think jasbar would put all his efforts to good use and make it his goal to have PH sit the same test

Yes,its a fact that us briefholders too have to graft more.
Time for a level playing field.

the POINT is it is a criminal offence to issue threats on this and any other internet forum.
regarding the individual you name I do not know if that person has one or one hundred names. BUT...... when they post their I.P. can be logged and traced and linked to a specific area all which helps to identify internet trolls or abusers. Police Scotland can employ experts to do this but ONLY if you take time to tell them.
As for your comment regarding my "rebirths" I can assure you I am me and will ALWAYS be hssc!!
Sorry if thats a disapointment!

Ha ha ha ha!! Can just see it now.

Hello is that the police??

I've been threatened online can you help?

Yes sir is it through work emails or Facebook??

No it's on a forum where I pose as a pseudonym and no one knows who I am.

Ok sir is your concern that the person or persons will come through your computer screen?? Cause there's really no need to worry. Followed by laughter.....
