How many CRT owners are jumping ship to City Cabs?

The reason I ask, is I know two CRT drivers that I’ve spoken to in the last few days, who have told me their rentals are such they believe they are earning less than half the clock with the loss of the Airport. The CRT members they drive for are now making inquiries into joining City Cabs.

Oh and the above is no bullshit, they even told me what they had earned for hours worked after fuel from Sunday through to Thursday this week, and I nearly sh*t myself. They are struggling to pay their rentals.

Up to last week there were 6 members- less than 1.5% of the fleet. Not quite an exodus. I have no reason to doubt your conversations but seriously- you can not cover your rental in a week?? Are they working 3 hours a day?? You know the game in Edinburgh, the work is there if you are prepared to find it- ie, not sit on a rank all day. Especially with the amount of contract work CRT have- as a driver discounts etc mean nothing so I think it would be harder not to cover your rental if you work decent hours.

You are taking my post a little out of context. Their point was they are earning less than half the clock for hours worked after fuel and struggling to pay their rentals. I am sure if they can pay their rentals but what is their take-home pay?

And what’s the point in paying your rental if you don’t take home enough money to pay your bills?

Kaiser, on this forum charges his driver £270 a week, and if you add fuel on top, that’s more like £330 before the guy has made a bolt for himself, and quite honestly, that's ridiculous.

Oh and what do you mean by decent hours, is that 60-70 or perhaps 80 hours a week?

You sound like an owner to me Lionel. #-o

The figure I quoted was picked out the air for arguments sake, you made up the rest. Let me help you Skull, I don't charge rentals. Your brain ticking now?

The figure you quoted was because you are a dickhead. #-o

Why don't tell everyone who you really are and that way you can have all the recognition you truly deserve? #-o

Thanks. Now I know where I'm going wrong. We serfs exist just to cover the rentals for owners.

Not even fuel. Nor putting bread on the table or paying the mortgage.

We exist simply to provide for our owner masters.

Thursday I did 13 jobs. A few years ago that would have been 26 jobs.

We've lost half our market and that's before central drivers felt the effect of losing the airport.

I get to pay £7 an hour sitting on a rank, or wasting expensive diesel, when I should be sitting at home and coming out when its busy in my own taxi.

But, perhaps this serf is getting above his SNP enforced lowly station in life?

It's time to find a new job Jazzy.

Even I'm starting to feel sorry for you

Word on the grapevine, is that CRT are phoning around their members offering rental sets for second cars when they don't have enough work to go around as it is.

So CRT's answer to losing the Airport contract seems to be to dilute their remaining work even further.

It looks like the rot is a lot deeper than one might have thought.

The above has got to be an act of desperation. #-o #-o #-o #-o #-o

You should write for the red tops. All you're full off is wind and pish and rumour.

Phoning around their members offering rental sets for second cars, is a fact, as is losing the Airport contract and the reduction in their work load as a consequence. #-o

Tell me Artur, have you always been such a fu*king arse or do you see it as something that you have to work at? #-o

To you it comes natural, for myself yes it takes a great deal of work.

You really are a sad individual delighting in centrals troubles when you've got f all to do with the trade.

Thankfully you and Jizzy are a couple of loose cannons that nobody has or will ever listen to.
