You must be so proud. You can stay at home and not earn the minimum wage.

Minimum wage is an hourly rate you silly old fart, if I did one hour per week and earned seven quid for it then that seven quid would be above minimum wage, as it happens I do over forty hours per week and don't appreciate nasty childlike comments from people who don't understand what they are reading.

Where was my comment nasty? So you work over 40 hours for less than the minimum wage and you think that is OK?

And if the Clients a genuine type then your request for MUF should never become an issue, the only ones who take exception to being asked are those who probably Didn't have either the means or Inclination to pay anyway.

That is the way I look at it.

A lot of the private hire companies around Birmingham do ask for money upfront, so o allow the black cabs to do it as well would benefit the customer on the long run. All they would have to do is put time limits on this, 7pm to 7am, 7 days i.e night work.

It would benefit customers on the long run, as rogue passengers would not waste taxi driver time, rogue passengers would find alternative methods of transport. This freeing up taxi drivers to take home legitimate passengers reducing touting.
