Your insurance will arrange a loan car and haggle with these scrotes for you. It shouldn't affect your premium unless you are at fault and anyway, the accident has been reported so you have to tell your insurance when you renew. They will already have been told by the other party's insurance.

Ermmm loan car then, they should pick the car up and deliver it when it's fixed.

right

stop there

contact a 3rd party claims company and let them sort it or your going to end the loser

loss of earning (as they know) require you to put three years accounts and tax returns in

their insured hit you, his fault, his loss

your insurance will NOT go up, its a 3rd party fault accident and its been admitted

got a letter in from his insurance today, i phoned them and told them i have got some personal repairs getting done to the car at a reliable bodyshop on the 8th of july so if the car could get the bumper done too that would be fine, they said the car would have to go to a bodyshop of their choice and that if it did i told them i wanted to claim loss of earnings as if the car went to my bodyshop it would be in their anyways so i wouldn't bother about losing time off work. but they said the wouldn't give me any money for loss of work and i'm not claiming off my own insurance cause it goes sky high and they get the money off you anyways the next time you renew your policy. Think i'l just have to reach into my own pocket and pay for it that way, won't be too much anyways max £150 but that is pushing it

whiplash
repairs
loan (plated) car

if they wanna play hardball bring it on i say

Also, they can't insist that the car goes to one of their approved centres for repair. Do as Wannabee says and get a claims company to handle the claim. They won't be fobbed off with anything and you won't be out of pocket or without a vehicle.

If they sense fear (or a crack in your defences) they will have you over

Maybe its because the biggest annual cost for this job is insurance, here we have an owner with - may i point out - a car barely 6 months old - who get run into and damaged (even lightly) and the 3rd party admits blame....but the owner wants to pay his own repairs? - no matter how much you trust your "mate with a garage" you should protect your interests and investment, and (lets not forget) you insurance history

did you report the incident to your insurers?
did you report the incident to your LA?

if id hit someone and they came to me and said "lets forget the insurance mate", my FIRST thought would be "hes not insured" and from that point id pay nothing out (he can check the CAR is insured but not the driver)

when you renew your insurance you may find the 3rd party reported the accident to HIS insurers, if you didnt report it to yours, and dont reveal it on your renewal you could have problems, in fact, if you dont reveal it, renew and then have an accident you could invalidate your insurance

you will do what you choose but the 3rd party cant dictate where/who/when repairs it and id screw em for their damn cheek dictating what happens when you were not at fault

As I said, your insurers already know about this, because the third party insurance have told them.
If you don't tell them, they are going to wonder what you are trying to hide.

oh no, what they do is say nothing, take your next renewal and hope you have a bump which you then claim on off your own insurance

THEN they invalidate it and save thousands, and you get a bad insurance record round your neck like a dead albatross

they dont make billions by playing the game any other way then their own - they make the rules

Do you know how insurance company's work? If you make a non fault claim, your insurance company works for you. It will recover all the costs from the other party, including a loan car whilst yours is off the road and you will not lose any no claims at the end of it or get a loading for the next 500 years. I don't know what the rules are in your Manor but here, if you have any kind of accident in the cab, you have to report it to the Council within a certain time and they will inspect the car to see if it can still be used. Failing to inform them could be classed as non disclosure and you could get a suspension. After all you are going to have to explain the broken plate to them, unless you think lying to them is a good idea.

Do you think Insurance Claims companies trawl this and other Forums to see what the can glean from our posts, they ain't daft and they have some cunning people working for them.

The old saying "Loose Lips sink ships" holds true in cyberspace. :? :-#

P.S..TDO's Bad word detector must have a sick mind..it "Adminned" out the word Cunning...what on earth could it have thought it was going be suffixed by...part of a certain Irish Airlines name maybe.. :?
