Are you sure that you have got insurance of your own? I can't believe that you want to pay for the damage caused by someone else.

I only picked up on this thread last night and cannot believe what I am reading!
UT11I was recently Feb 28th T-boned in my own private motor.....here is how it went.
The other person did not have insurance details available as her partner was working away.
I had her address, car registration number, I then notified my insurance company about the accident.
They checked as did I, that she was insured.............they are insured.
It was a bit long winded in the way that my insurance company went about it, but by being a pain, I TOLD them that the car needed repairing one way or the other and that I was taking it to an approved garage. They soon got back to me stating as to where they wanted it repaired! You can choose YOUR OWN garage if you wish! but, in order to get it done I went along with them as it is guaranteed to be as new.
The upshot is this..............my repair is done and my excess has been returned. The money that I paid out for car hire and taxis (£399) that was needed is still outstanding. Solicitors are chasing that one, being paid for by my insurance..........I am confident that it will be paid, plus my no claims is intact. Yes I paid money out in this instance because we are not on a bus route, so I needed wheels for my wife.
Four years ago I had a similar whack in my E7 work related.
Quite simply as you are not to blame you get hold of Solicitors who specialise in taxi accidents.
They will sort out your Cab hire with any company that you get a cab from. They will sort out any damage to you i.e whiplash, loss of earnings, and anything else that you can think of........in that instance I never paid a penny out, and claimed for the couple of shifts that I did lose. Once again no loss of no claims.
I cannot understand your train of thought............unless you are NOT telling us the whole story.
