It also has info not included in the CRB checks

Quote:
any additional information held locally by police forces that’s reasonably considered relevant to the post applied for

not sure if thats a good or bad thing if its unsubstantiated rumours

Yes.

In fact if you are barred it's a criminal offence to even apply for a job needing clearance.

but thats not the job of the DBS is it, anyone at any time can apply and pay for a report, job applications arent even part of it whereas the old CRB was linked to job applications

so who gets barred by the DBS?

I would think that they will get a report but it will state that they are barred from certain occupations.

Everyone who applies will get a report.

Those that are barred commit an offence by merely applying for a job that requires a check.

You can’t do a criminal records check on yourself.

If you need to run a check on yourself, you can get a ‘basic disclosure’ with details of any unspent convictions from Disclosure Scotland (anywhere in the UK).

theres no link or download i can see to get my DBS

You print it off.

You take it to the people who want you checked.

They do their bit.

You do your bit.

It gets returned.

What is confusing about that?

Having a re look it appears those that want to check you should have the forms.
