Why don't these car companies give the Taxi Trade motors to try for a year free of charge. People like to sit in a nice motor and if they like it they'll go out and buy one.

Because the trade isn't full of good folks like thee and me.

Some of the drivers I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them.

Latest scum-bag thinks it's a good thing to book dummy jobs on the firm's App booking facility, to get him nearer to first point. Maybe when he is second and a job is due.

And that c*** is still on the firm. [-(

Do the same to him.

My local dealer told me that skoda wanted to get away from the image of them as taxi ph vehicles so put up the price and to make them more attractive to fleet and company car drivers

Not really, I had a letter this morning from Henry's skoda saying how the rapid has a taxi/ph driver special at 239 a month or 279 a month with free servicing up to 100,000 mile

they look great on paper but I challenge anyone to sit in the back of it and then tell me what a great car it is for taxi/ph work.

too darn small, give me a cheap no frills superb estate in greenline economy guise around 14/15k and i'd bite your hand off.

The superb is with out doubt the BEST saloon taxi, the cabin space boot space VW reliability, you have it all, the rapid/Toledo does the job but they are too small for taxi work even though councils will plate them, I think the only proper saloon taxis that have enough space are, superb,Octavia,mondeo,i40,optima looks good as does the c5 the exeo looks big but is mini inside, the headroom in the insignia is awful,

I got in an Audi A3 2009 yesterday, christ it felt cramped inside, it might be the same VAG floorpan as the Rapide?

If you track the floorpans you find the right cars, i.e. a Mazda 626 is a Mondeo BUT its the Mk4 now and soon to be Mk5

VAG have dozens on the golf/octavia floorpan

I do wish they would all stop trying to screw more BHP out of engines, the Tddi Duratorq (115bhp) was plenty good enough, the extra common rail bits and upping it to a Tdci 155bhp only costs more in parts to repair, who needs a 155bhp taxi?

Well one if the drivers up here a few month ago got a 13 plate superb same colour and shape as mine but is a higher spec, but he didn't get a 1.6 TDI 105 PS, oh no he went and got a 2.0 TDI 170PS DSG, I think it's more a towing engine than a taxiing

They need to look at the Vectra, there's no leg room in the back of that.

I know, they are quite small in the back, and the headroom in the insignia is awfull, even I find it a bit small and I'm not that tall,

Its time I went comparing cars, the Mk3 Mondeo was great back+front but ive since tried an Octavia, an Audi A3, and a Proton (all were plated) which were only suited to munchkins, as for the back row in a zafira or galaxy....mini-munchkins!
