Well traction control can't replace the clutch, it just reduces engine power, but even my German (Czech assembled) skoda hasn't avoided the new diesel faits with it having to get a new EGR valve the other week fortunately through warranty, was a 5 hour operation with a lot I'd the engine having to be stripped out :?

Christ that didnt take long did it...how many miles?

FIVE HOURS? FKIN HELL, I can change mine in 20 minutes, when its out of warranty thats gonna cost you £500 at least

BTW, where was yours built, can you tell from the VIN plate?

Kvasiny, Czech Republic
Aurangabad, India (Škoda India)
Anting, China (Shanghai Volkswagen)
Solomonovo, Ukraine (Eurocar)
Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan
its now on 29,000 miles, and yes the EML came on and suspected the egr, with the new CR engines it's a pain in the backside, the old PD units where so much easier to work with, I loved my last Octavia with that truly bulletproof 1.9 TDI pd and it never had a egr done, they could go 500,000 mile easy, best Diesel engine made hands down, but these cr units are no where near as reliable

Whats the warranty on it?

We're confident in the build quality of our cars, and by awarding us 'Best Manufacturer' in the Auto Express Driver Power survey for the fourth year running, we think our customers agree.

So not only can we give you a two year unlimited mileage warranty but also a third year of warranty up to 60,000 miles, plus, a 12 year body protection warranty on all new ŠKODAs.

My old Auto car was spot on in snow. The new one with ESP is yet to be tested.

First thing you do if it snows is switch off the esp if possible

It has proper New Car Smell; you know this smell? MMMMM! You then run this new car for 12, 18, 24 or 36 months depending on the term, and run it within an agreed mileage limit (usually 10,000, 15,000 or 20,000 miles per year).

If you exceed the mileage limit, you pay for extra miles at (typically) 4p - 10p per extra mile. This is known as the excess mileage rate.

They don't do Taxis mate, if you look at her mileage allowances you'll go over 30,000 in a year.

It was supposed to be a funny. That result came up when typing "avensis v octavia". :)

Try Amber Leasing, they got me a good deal on my new Skoda. Keep it for 3 years, it's under warranty, it goes back, I get another new car, 3 years warranty....by then I've reached state pension age so don't give a f*** after that!

Interestingly, I looked at getting a 2nd hand Skoda, it worked out dearer per month getting that on HP over 4 year than leasing a new car for 3 years! with the lease, I only have to worry about paying for the wear and tear items like brakes, tyres and a regular service.
