Nothing at all, but the trade want the rules changed, to say we CAN have it. Because if we dont, then our cabs will be failing inspections left right and centre, due to `modifying ` the vehicle.
We would like GCC to recognise, we have a problem, and we need their blessings in cctv installations, for the good of the taxi trade.
Is having a Sat Nav modifying the vehicle? Or a works data system? If not then why is a CCTV system?
You must remember that councils are different to the likes of us in relation to laws. They can only say or do something if there is a law saying they can, we can do anything we like as long as there isn't a law saying we can't.
So if nothing is written down, what law are you breaking?
However I agree it would be better if the council came onside, but FFS CCTV has been out for decades, how long do you/they want?
