I can't believe that three Dragons are going toe to toe over http://www.minicabit.com/ #-o

How many of these firms are there, dozens, hundreds, thousands?

How many actually make money, one two three?

Clearly none of that Dragons know anything about our trade, and they have just p***ed their cash up the wall.

He got 3 good Dragons fighting for it and ended up with the best two, Piers Linney runs the Cloud system, Peter Jones is a Telecom Guru, and Deborah Meden has contacts all over the place.

They'll do their due diligence before they invest any money. Peter Jones won't invest in anything unless he's going to make money.

From what I seen of the App it's UK wide (not just in London) it stores drivers bids for the job, a bit like Uship and Ebay.

I agree with what you say Sussex there's hundreds of them in the market.

So it is a system for operators and drivers to undercut each other. A race to the bottom then. =D> =D> =D>

And then give the mush 10% for being mugged off.

To get the work you will need to be the cheapest, thus any punters will be getting the (in my view) sh** of the trade.

Quite how that will appeal to punters who knows? Well actually I do, the Dragons clearly don't.

But if I was a Dragon I would have asked why none of the mega firms who have millions of booking a year haven't developed a system like that themselves.

I suspect they have all looked at it, but the Barons know there's no money in it.

Quite, and I suspect that's why they drooled over this.

And all they have done is confirmed they know nothing about the taxi/PH trade.

Which is no surprise, as many in it share that position.

How much did they each invest £15k?, £30k? A drop in the ocean compared to the millions they each have, if it goes wrong they've not lost anything really. And it's not 'their' money but 'their companys' money, and each of those companies makes more in interest alone each day than the dragons invested in the product.

They're not interested unless they can make £10m a year from a business they invest £20k in for 90% of the company, a £m here and there is not worth bothering with for them. Why they bother doing the programme when they're brokering multi-million pound deals daily is beyond me.

Well I guess at 10% on quoted jobs and an extra £1 for booking fee, all paid by the minicab company, this app should bring in a pretty penny from the minicab trade
