Have any of you read this monthe front cover of ph and taxi drivers monthly, If you have you will see that tesco is having another go at the taxis
Tesco hate taxis full stop   :x :x :?: :?: they only allow 1 company to put a free phone in the store, and that costs a fortune, and nobody else can put there number up at the pay phone, there should be a taxi rank at all tesco stores so there customers can go strait home without waiting.
So what i am sugesting is a total boycot of all tesco stores untill they come to there senses and allow all taxis to advertise there number and insall taxi ranks 8) 8)
come on guys lets get them back starting on monday august the 1st

If anyone hasn't read said article then have a look.

As for the boycott, I think deep down we all know that aint going to happen. If one firm blanks it, another half a dozen will jump in.

As our company have that free phone I quite like them and I think its a good idea to limit it to only one firm having their number on the phone. I just wish they would ban the other firms from coming on their property altogether. At least their customer are going to get a realible service from the taxi firm they recommend, their is nothing worse than trying to get a taxi and having to ring and about ten numbers off cards that could have been around the phone for months before you get one that does still and exist and has a spare car.

And what hapens if the punter does not like the driver that turns up or the company that has the free phone rips folk off or has a stinking car or driver or is a lazzy and does not help with all those bags I have seen some drivers just stand there scratching there arse while the punter loads the cab, remember you as a driver is responsable for loading the cab and what hapens when they get to there destination they just dump them on the pavement instead of helping them to the door with the bags
Remember freedom of choice, even on a rank any punter can if they so do wish can take any car on that rank, some of you may not like it but its the punters perogative.
I did that last week in plymouth the first cab driver was out of his cab like a feret up a drain pipe, but he was told it was my perogative and that I could take any cab I wished to take I got the cab from the back outside the bus station next to gala bingo

The hospitals tried this, putting a rank outside the main door but you had to pay to use it

Tesco rank, yeah, Do I see that going down the same road as the railway taxi ranks, your permit has run out, it will cost you this year xxx pounds to ply for hire

I;m going to have one built, a private taxi rank, right at the end on my drive, I'll even put a turning circle in, you can pay by cheque, credit card or cash

Just a guess but I suppose if the customers then complained to Tesco they would not renew the contract with the taxi firm and some other firm would get to put their number on the free phone.

i dont think the current PH company would let that happen.

more like getting rid of that driver and giving the customer a weeks worth of free shopping.

if it means keeping the contract it would be money well spent.

I think in that scenario it's a case of the other drivers either sorting out the mush, or getting the boss to sort it for them.

Any firm that loses a major customer such as a Tesco's, through an iffy driver, is a firm that doesn't deserve a major customer such as a Tesco's.

Bin the bloke off to a competitor with a glowing reference.
