Cabbie arrested after brawl with fellow taxi driver outside Xscape, Milton Keynes




A 32-year-old man has been arrested for an early morning brawl with a fellow taxi driver over fares.

The Hackney Carriage Driver, from Wolverton, was outside the Milton Keynes Casino at Xscape when he had a disagreement with a fellow taxi driver over queuing for fares.

During the fight, which took place between 4.00 - 4.30am on March 16, the victim was punched up to five times in the face. He sustained a small scratch on his chin but required no treatment at Milton Keynes Hospital.

The alleged offender is an Asian male, 5ft 9ins, of medium build, with short dark hair.

He was driving a "Black Honda Accord Hackney carriage", while the victim was driving a blue taxi.

Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact PC Victoria Robinson at Milton Keynes police station via the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number 101.

Yes MiltonKeynes is WAV but the 78 vehicles Licenced prior Deregulations back in 2001 have grandfather rights which allow them to be Saloon vehicles in Black colour.

So if both vehicles are licensed by MK what's the difference between a Hackney carriage and a taxi Why aren't they both HC or taxis?
