So a related question here!!!!

As a private hire do you keep moving until you get a job (first in rank ) or would you just sit in a place until a job comes through!
On the one hand your obviously burning through fuel whereas on the other your burning your time....

What do you do..?

Private Hire ....no rank, you should know that by now

if a PH on a circuit drops off in a normally covered/busy plot you may as well park up

and wait till your back on to the top right? Obviously this may be in 5 mins or an hour? you wouldnt just drive around until you were in an area and top rank? (guilty of this....learning as you go) lol

Your base op will probably share work out and you may as well wait, not very often will you drive round aimlessly and get a job as you pass...

It depends how busy the firm is you're with. I prefer to drive around while watching the different areas to see which ones are busiest or have uncovered jobs. It obviously also depends on how your system works. The previous firm I worked for, if you waited say 20 mins in one area then decided to go elsewhere, you'd have to rejoin the queue from the back. The current firm have a system where that 20 minute wait is not lost from one area to the next, and keeps counting. There are no queue positions, the jobs just go to the driver with the highest waiting time currently in the area. The only time I park up is weekdays about 10.30 -1pm when there are lots more drivers than jobs. With the previous firm though, I'd be parked up most of the day, sometimes for more than an hour. In general if I think I'll be waiting for a job longer than 15 minutes I'll consider parking up.

You can get a car park pass for the multi storey and park in there for up to 3 hours for £1.50.
