You do not say what the year of the car is - that makes a big difference. To put my silly hat on, if that was a 2 year old car  then it is fair to say it has had a hammering. As it is, based on 12k per year you have a 15 year old vehicle, there could well be body work/chassis issues that would not necessarily show up on service history. With a car with so much mileage on and not exactly a prestige model (not a dig Or put down), then I would say that unless it belongs to some little ole lady, I would view the service history with suspicion.

Ahhhh.....give me a break - I was still trying to wake up

Even so 20k average per year for an engine that small is lots and lots........I would give it a miss.

My brother has a fiesta with the same engine that has covered over 200,000 he loves it and won't even think about changing it. Only problems he's had ( other than wear and tear items ) have been an EGR valve and new copper washes on the injectors. He's had the car since 60,000.

As you know.......it is not just about the engine. It is technically a 15 year old car based on 12k per year.

I can vaguely recall there was some inherent problem with the Steering on the 206s that involved the Power steering stopping working on bends whilst braking and a few of them crashed and hit trees and the likes. :-k

180,000 on the clock....say normal average annual mileage of 12k = a TECHNICAL 15 year old car

Technically and in reality it's still a 9 year old car Averaging 20k Per annum..I mean, we could pick any number and divide the Mileage by it...Technically its a 180,000 year old car averaging 1 Mile per annum. #-o

maybe its just cruised the motorways at 70mph in 5th all day

rather that than 50,000 miles spent battering around town all day stop/start

Nope!

The reality of it is that (Yes) it is a 9 year old car - In actual car usage/mileage ( and that is the yardstick used for buying and selling)......it is in "Technical" terms around 15 years old #-o
