been offered both. price pretty much alike, mileage of cars and mpg's much the same.

which would you take?

i know i should be looking at skoda, but where i am i can get both the vauxhalls at far better prices. so wondering if anyone had any experience with the Insignia or the astra estate?

I have an Insignia Auto. Love it. If the cars are similar ages, specs and prices, there may be something needing attention on the Insignia. If it still checks out, then it's worth considering. :-)

Because there shit. Vauxhall only made one decent motor and that was the Cavalier diesel with the Isuzu Engine, the motors they make now are total shit

Currently in a 57 reg Astra 1.7cdti with 290k miles on. it has required 2 dual mass flywheel and clutches which were expensive. and apart from that just consumable items. Wouldn't be surprised if it reached 350k. Not bad to drive still either, amazingly still on original turbo and gearbox which are apparently known weakpoints.
