does premium fuel really make a difference in a taxi. know a guy driving a vectra who has always used the more expensive diesels from Shell and raves on about it. my question is does it really make a difference over supermarket stuff?

This subject has been covered a few times on here, with differing views. personally, I wouldn't use supermarket fuel. My passat use to run terrible on our local tesco's fuel. When I filled up with shell it ran perfect. I put v-power in my vito about every third fill and regular shell the rest of the time (only because my local shell doesn't have v-power) It does seem to run a little better and you get more mpg from it, but the extra price negates the benefit. In the past the fairway drivers use to fill up with v-power before their emissions test and it definitely made a difference.

In an old van i had it used to be bit smokey on supermarket fuel. As soon as i put v-power it and blasted it down the slip road on motorway it certainly cleared it a lot better and get a little better miles per gallon.

I always use Shell V power. I also use the Shell Drivers card where you get a free £5 voucher for fuel at the end of the promotion.

Always stick with go diesel in ours. That said we have fuel cards do pay a fair bit less than pump prices

The extra power with Shell V Power and the smooth running with the added extra MPG outweighs the extra few pence per litre in my eyes.
