Doing the market at ingilston years ago we traders liked to Add on a little so as to take it off, giving the customer the feeling they had just got a discount, with Tarrif 4gate it's turned out to be the opposite, lose Tarrif 4 for an enhanced tarrif 3, charge less at night but charge more during the day, the reasoning was Tarrif 4 was out of control, I accepted that but felt a cap on both 3&4 was a compromise suitable for cabby and punter, as it turns out just like the add on too take off, we are taking off to add on, I still can't get my head round the take it off Peter so as to give it to Paul scenario that is the outcome of this whole Tarrif saga, the big problem though is the vast majority of cabbies don't care until it's too late.
Dougie, are you on something?
Tariff 3 is Tariff 3 - it simply means tariff 4 is not kicking in at 18:00h. So your tariff 4 is no more. And what's the pi*h about an enhanced tariff 3?
Oh and need I point out down here in East Lothian, it's a straight double tariff and not fare and a half.
And how's it a negotiation to want for less?

I really do hope I am misunderstanding something here?
