I don't have hatred for anyone but your suggesting I do , like I've said you like to turn things around and twist them to suit your needs. You have implied I have a mentor and previous comments , and members should decide I don't know from where your coming from but may I suggest you vent your anger or hatred in another way. What I have said is my experience of yourself and the way you talk to people and how you ridicule them when their opinions are not the same as yours , but you have a nice day as I'm off to work maybe get more work from get taxi than the system .

You haven't been working too much lately and that is your choice but your drivers certainly do alright from the City Cabs system.
Maybe your advisor should suggest you sit behind the wheel of your taxi a bit more to get a better return from your investment.
Just a bit friendly advice no intimidation meant.

Les, I think you've been hornswoggled by the council and as usual they've used Halcrow to do. :-| Oh and I should point out, James Cooper of Halcrow is an academic and has probably never worked a real job in his puff. And why you would believe any report that he put together is beyond me. #-o #-o #-o You are supposed to be the man with the practical experience, who knows how it works in real life. James Cooper is just a pencil head. #-o #-o #-o #-o

Deary me Les.... #-o #-o #-o

Sorry but I have enough practical experience to know that Professor Cooper doesn't work for Halcrow and as far as I know never has. James had nothing to do with the report but has written a chapter in his informative and knowledgeable book "The roll of Taxi Services in the Urban Environment" regarding the potential pitfalls of overcharging your customers.
All along I have asked everyone involved to read the Halcrow report before forming an opinion. It is disappointing how many jump to conclusions without taking the time to read its independent findings.

Deary me Gary

I can tell you for a fact James Cooper was Halcrow's top man as I took the time to speak to him at Napier College. I merely assumed he was still in charge. As for The role of Taxi Services in the Urban Environment" regarding the potential pitfalls of overcharging your customers. Do you really believe he has more experience than you in driving a taxi? Oh and what about the double tariff down here in East Lothian and the fact that people already assume the tariff is doubled over the festive period anyway? #-o #-o #-o #-o

Oh and you do realise you are talking about 6 days out of the year? #-o #-o #-o And you can't really believe that people stop going out because of the cost of a taxi home? #-o #-o #-o #-o

Nah, the council hornswoggled you into agreeing to what they wanted Les and you bought it. #-o #-o #-o #-o

Anyhoo Les this is getting boring, a bit like when I used to explain to customers the meter is not double over the festive period. #-o Oh and the fact is, they don't believe what you tell them anyway. It's more about what they want to believe, "greedy, robbing bloody taxi drivers" but now you can tell them about your enhanced tariff 3?        I am sure you will be beating the public off with sticks this Christmas and New Year. #-o

Oh and remember and thank Halcrow for their report. #-o

Considering that you don't want Les Mcvay to know who you are, you keep giving him little clues. If you really want to stay anonymous don't answer any of the remarks about your work pattern or that of your driver(s) If he doesn't know who you are, he will soon by process of elimination.

It's simple hssc the man concerned has already reduced the festive tariff by 6 hrs , now he wants to cut out tariff 4 completely again reducing the earning potential of all Cabbies and that I believe is a fact .

FFS we are talking about 4 days!! And if you care about the trade so much the real taxi driver what is your opinion on the brilliant strategists at Central taxis discounting the trade to death?

Okay Les, prove it?

I'll meet you up at the city chamber and we can check out your claim? The council wrote to me offering the renewal of my licence and I told them where to stick it. Yes, my licence was suspended in my absence.

Are you alright Skull? Ok so les prove it then you go and add yes it was suspended! Deary me.

Oh and it wasn't suspended! It was revoked

Play a safe game?? You write in the same style as you do on the City cabs website! Promising earth shattering news every time a AGM comes up yet you never produce anything! Just another loud voice with no substance.

Oh Dear another who hasn't a clue I haven't written anything on city's website so keep digging , I have seen members being accused of doing things by the Secretary which I don't think are true , he even phones members to tell them to keep their drivers in check and stop gossiping on ranks . So it's now a crime to talk on ranks unless Les says it's ok say's it all really .

Yet another manufactured statement.
I have recently posted on another section of this site trying to gather information about fitting cctv systems in taxis.
A gentleman has messaged me with his phone number to contact him in order to share his experiences and how the taxis in his area complied with the Local Authority requirement.
How refreshing to be able to work with someone to advance our trade rather than the negativity that so cripples the Scottish Section on this site.

What don't you understand about telling the Cab Inspector to stick the licence and shortly there after the council the same thing? I didn't even go to their meeting and what is more, when they offered me my licence renewal I told them where to shove it for a third time? =D> =D> =D>

Artur why can't you face it? Unlike you and Les I have principles and a backbone. I wouldn't let scum like that judge me on their best day. I am sorry that you are a scumbag Artur, I really am but if you want to meet me up at the council I will prove it to you?

Oh dear.
The public hire trade in Edinburgh continues to be it's own worst enemy with contributions from faceless people.
One is talking about getting a backbone and the other is bragging about helping third parties destroy his and his colleagues business. Whilst hiding behind that character enhancing attribute of not being man enough to put your name to what you say and calling into question the integrity of others who have.
The taxi trade attracts the finest qualities in men but also sadly the worst.
This level of debate is best left to find comfort in each others self assuring anonymity and whatever pleasure that this sort of activity brings.
It is my parting contribution and in defence of my trade, you sir are anything but a "real taxi driver"
