Does anyone have a really solid brick wall, please? I need it to do a job on my head!

I have just heard that our licensing committee will not approve a credit card surcharge or wording on the tariff card.................Until all credit card companies charge the same!!!!!!

I am unable to make any sensible comment on that decision!!!!!!

Have your committee heard of the Office of Fair Trading? and something called capitalism?

Obviously not, despite the fact that a dead monkey would retain the parliamentary seat for the conservatives!

Does your tariff card have a 'tolls' section?

And remind your council that the set rates are the maximum, so they could say it's a max of 5%.

Your council are thick, there must be 1000s of different credit card set ups, no way can, or will, they agree.

Dunno if your council are the same as ours, but in the payment hall in our council offices there's a sign about credit card transactions costing more with cards .

The entire thing is a joke countrywide - a growing number of councils are simply not up to the task.

Our Council are definitely different to yours. We don't have a payments hall. You can't go in and pay a bill.

I'll check the payments hall. I have to go in within the next week with my plate renewal.

I have learned more. What got me started again last night was a brief summary of a meeting. It transpires this was not the licensing committee but the next one up, the executive committee. It gets worse!!!!
