You have heard the whole truth
Anyway I never got prosecuted cause CPS said they didn't know if an offence had taken place so they dismissed the charge
I am amazed that so many people think they know the law I never claimed to know the law I just stated what I thought or I believed was the law main thing is I now know for future times

As for the bloke that said I work on a small circuit cause we couldn't get one job covered
I work in a small village all our work is airport work it's not that we are small we are just very busy but don't know what that had to do with my posting

You don't know for future times because the case was not tried. If a similar thing happens in the future you may well find there is a different outcome. my advise would be that you got away with it this time, you may not be so lucky next time. Particularly if it is shown that it has happened more than once.

So you are running a business where by you take people to and from airports for no charge what so ever. Do you have business insurance on the vehicle because you stated that it was only used for SDP?

I'd love see to which business insurance covers non business vehicles that are not supposed to be used for business even when they are, and reward does not necessarily mean purely a monetary reward.

I think your Legal team have about as little grasp of Taxiing/PH law as you have.

Maybe if someone wants to book a take and return to an airport they only get charged for the outward journey in a licensed vehicle and the return journey is free and carried out in any old vehicle. Of course the cost of the outward journey is double what it should have been to compensate for the freebie.

Friday i had to leave my licensed private hire car in the garage
Saturday i was driving my dad's car which is not licensed as we only use it for sdp
In the course of the day i relalised that 2 of our customers were going to be left at gatwick as i could not pick them up due to my car being off the road so i told my boss that i would go down in my dad's car which is only insured for personal use but i would not charge the 2 people and i would do it as a favour to them
So i collected them and was driving back when i got stopped by the police i td them i was a private hire driver but in my own car they told me that i had come down with the view of charging them for the trip
The customers were told i was not insured so they said well if he doesn't charge us he can take us home
Anyway i was charged with no insurance but they let me drive off and take the 2 customers home still no money has chafed hands
Where do i stand because despite what they think whether i was there to earn money and none ever changed hands for this trip how can i be reported for no insurance

why would anyone do that for nothing ? i honestly dont understand :?:
