Hi guys
Just looking for some helpful advice
Just about to start a 2 week course (btec) one, as delta have just got funding for this free medical , free course , free badge , free knowledge test ect
I am coming out of the construction industry and usually take home £500 to £800 per week but thats for 7 days work ( hard work !!!!) .
I no i wont get anywhere near to £800 per week on the taxis but i am hoping to take home £400 after paying everything out is this about right , as i am willing to work the fri/sat nights through to the early hours .
I already have a 13 plate insignia SE estate with 25k on the clock which i have had for just over 1 year and think this will be better than a settle car as i am still tied into this car for 3 more years ?
And insurance , i have 8 years no claims with my private insurance but i no i cant carry that over ? i am age 35 with a full clean licence, what do you think the insurance will cost per year ? am thinking £3000 ?
The mrs has a decent job so no huge pressure to earn big bucks , but i am used to hard work and average a 70 hour week in my old job so don't mind putting the hours in on weekends .
Any advise guys or if you could answer any questions
cheers ste

Firstly most insurers will carry over your NCD Patons will and the taxi centre.
You're more than likely to do about what you're hoping for, but more than likely will need around 50 hours to do so

phone the insurance company's, there is a list of them on tdo home page, most will carry your NCB over reducing your outlay,

If you have the car on finance you will need to check the credit agreement to make sure that you can use it as a hackney or private Hire vehicle. Not all finance companys will allow it.

That's correct, one guy round here has one on finance but didn't tell the finance company. It had to go into the garage for repairs, it had done close on 70,000 miles in 9 months. The garage said "yeah right have notified the finance company that it's being used for hire and reward?" He hadn't done, the garage was supplied by a in house finance company. They got in touch with him and told him to make the extra payments over the previous months or they'll be taking the asset away.

To be honest i could hand the car back today as i put £10k for it as a deposit and have made one years payments and am just over the stage that i can hand it back , but not a chance of that as its still worth over £11k at the part ex price and is still £13k auto trader price .
I have looked over the small print and there is no clause saying i cant use it .
Maybe as i put a 65% deposit down there is no clause ???
