If your doing 80 hours per week you will be lucky to get 3 years let alone 5, however you seem To be used to working the hours so should do ok.
of Course I can't comment on the firm or even area as each locality is different.
good luck.

It wont be my car anymore it will be my work tool , just like my drills and saws , planers , bench saws i have that cost over £10k .
once it gets old and battered in 5 years times i will replace it like i would with a drill .
In 5 years it will have had some breakdowns yes but it would of saved me £3000 a year even with them breakdowns .
I will then get a £12k year old car with low milage £3k deposit and pay the rest over 5 years and keep saving money each year rather than get a settle .
That's the good thing about having good credit !!!!!!
I was out with a guy on friday night that works in Deltas call centre for the past 18 years the exact figure at the minute was 2100 drivers give or take .
And explained when you become a delta driver everyone out there hates you !!!! its because they work for roller cola and you work for coca cola .
He was saying Liverpool council are running scared of delta now and there new call Centre opens in town in October at the minute its just app work for the liverpool badge guys (200 of them) but all the court cases are over delta won them and now there going to start taking to knowsley and no one else can compete with them .
Now he has been working there for 18 years and is now a main manager and i have also been talking to drivers so i dont think there all lying are they ?????
I ll let you all no how am getting on in 6 months time and will stay on this forum for advice as well guys , thanks for the encouragement off some guys and too the guys that keep slating delta have you worked for them and have experience with them ?

You seem to be talking to Delta's Lord Haw-haw...he needs new drivers to keep him in a job...Ask yourself why they have such a massive turnover of drivers...

I stand corrected 2100 drivers sharing 10 million jobs approx that's roughly 4762 jobs per driver, give or take. The average job is £5.50 that's £26,191 per annum and roughly £545 per week if you work 48 weeks a year. That clearly is not £700/£600 clear each week because out of that £545 you have to take out the costs to do your job. I think a more realistic view would be £400 per week clear. That's still above minimum wage by £1.50 and at the beginning you should do better than that

Cant believe how much hate there is for delta , i can only guess thats because they are taking all the work in all liverpool areas . because i cant see any other reason .

Well I don't, but I just wish they would be a bit more honest on the earnings front.

However an operator down here told one of my mates if he bought an 8 seater he would earn £3,000 a week. :---)

Drivers hating drivers just because they work for other companies.........is absolute tosh, you are listening to company BS.When they (the company) start doing that, then you have to take everything else with a pinch of salt.

Did they tell you about the company favourites that get fed, and also after throwing you some big fish in the first week or so........that it is not always going to be like it on a regular basis?

He losing drivers ,last time I was talking to him he was saying he had 2900... the city firms bringing their rates down to his. must be having a effect.

I don't hate Delta drivers, I have no reason to hate Delta drivers and neither do the vast majority of drivers. Companies are much of muchness so it doesn't really matter who you work for. I guess Liverpool Hackneys aren't particularly fond of Delta the company but I don't think they make it personal to the drivers unless they've had dealings with the driver, but, I could be wrong. It really doesn't matter, you should do ok to start with and then pan out a bit to the regular income in few weeks, you'll make a living and that's all that matters :-|

You do know that that is illegal don't you? If you don't have your own operators license you can't accept a booking unless you are a Hackney. Don't they tell you this on your course?

You sound like the kind of person that this trade can do without.
