The funny thing is with this forum i have flicked through 50 posts and no one gives any good info , its full of trolls that just take the pi$$ out of each other .
I started this post looking for helpful info and a few guys give me good answers then the take the [edited by admin] started , so i give it back !
I knew straight away when i wrote about building private work up it would wind a load of you up and i was right i done it to get a rise and it did !
Any way i ll be up and running Saturday with half price settle for 8 weeks ,
There was 2 ex Acorn drivers and 2 ex alpha drivers in my computer induction today and they cant wait to get on delta as they are barely making a living in there former companies . They where also delta haters but they said if you cant beat them join them .

A friend of mine worked for delta for a few years. long hours, normally 60 - 80 hours per week. mostly on the weekends. during the week it was quiet. Now working for alpha and earning more money. There is a lot of competition out there now. A lot of liverpool taxis, have reduced their fares in line with Delta. There are also black taxi companies such as future and phoenix who charge less than Delta. Give it a try, you will make a living but long hours. Delta tend to dominate certain areas, just like alpha. other taxis dominate specific areas. for example, village taxis dominate Garston and Allerton. Speke belongs to South Liverpool Taxis.

To answer that question
No you can leave them anytime as your self employed .
delta are making money on each of us that complete the course , there was 24 that took the course and they will all pass , but they recon only 4 to 5 will become a driver as they wont pass the routes test and give up , the fail rate for it is over 80% .So i saved nearly £600 in total they paid for everything but apparently they are getting £3000 per person that get the qualifacations from a government fund.
we got to use the pda computer today , the system is really good .
delta have a new tariff for Saturdays now a blue card its the highest tariff they have to encourage the drivers out on a Saturday nights as the only had 1100 out the last 3 Saturdays and they cant cope with the amount of jobs coming in .
Delta have crosby , thornton , netherton , bootle , aintree , walton , fazac , norris green , seaforth , bootle , county rd , everton , and now even the city centre wrapped up and now trying to take Knowsley , thats the genuine reason i have picked delta because they offer me work right across the city . why would i get stick for that

What population numbers does that cover? What distance North to South & West to East does the license

Who knows if drivers are lying to you or why they would, but, you have spoken to 30 them so you only have 2070 left to talk to

It's just a % of your weekly earnings, if you earn enough it's not a problem. It's like any business over heads that have to be paid

I know i get all that and your correct, but that is one big expense for such a small business and small turnover rate per hour in my opinion anyway for a self employed person.
