so...went on the "child abuse " training course this morning, the woman holding it ( from the council) was bleating on about how the drivers & escorts need to be friendly to the kids as they will confide in a friend, notice the signs that they may be suffering from abuse at home etc , also the more change these kids have, means the more contact they come in to with new people etc , the council said its of "paramount importance " that the drivers on school runs notice these signs !! etc ... etc ... , any questions ??
well yes, if its so "paramount" to befriend these kids , get them used to a routine, get them feeling comfortable with the drivers/escorts, keep them in the same routine where they feel at ease, how come i have lost my school run with the 5 kids i have had for some time now so the council can save a few quid ?? not that "paramount " at all is it really, well , as the title reads ......

Then what ? Offer them sweets, ask if they want to see some puppies ? The last thing an abused kid wants is for some stranger to start getting friendly.
