There will be no real punters using the train, It'll be local and non local self professed Dignitaries being bussed in and treated like celebrities that'll be hogging the Trains, press, TV Cameras and all the limelight....I'm fed up of hearing about it, they've as much as said that it'll never make a profit or recoup it's build costs.

Have you seen how much the rolling Stock Companies charge the train operators to use their rolling stock? It's a wonder the train operating companies make any money.

I was actually, for all of 5 mins.
I pulled on and an obnoxious bus driver told me to move as a bus was wanting in.
I told him its a taxi rank and I was allowed to use it to earn a living.
he then said move it or we block you in.
Just then a PC came across and said sorry Skippy, but due to the golden ticket HOO HA , the bus station is closed and the buses have to use the bays that where in use when they where building the new bus station
So I left.
Now the thing is nobody mentioned that the rank would be closed, and as its meant to be a transport interchange that includes taxis, we will be complaining to the council

I remember them lifting the rails back in the early 70's through Eskbank.

£20 zillion pounds and 43 years later, they're back. =D>

thats the trouble with railways in the uk they are in such a hurry to rip them up when they close and often the rush is to close them to reuse the track bed for a road

the French and the Irish have a better system of mothballling them then they don't cost ridiculous sums to reopen them

I support HS2, we are about the only European country with a Victorian rail network
