what you normally do having one? especially when you "know" him or who he is and you even know where he lives... report to the police and spend hours giving statement even if he's known troublemaker? or do it alternatively eastern way...

If you know who it is and where they live try going round and asking for the money. If they won't pay give the details to the police. There is a copy of the relevant law posted on here somewhere. This is what we did and the next day we got our money.

I had this happen a couple of years ago, I reported it to the police two days later the officer dealing with the case contacted me to tell me she had collected the outstanding fare and arranged to meet up to give it to me.

This incident is another reason for in car cctv because if you don't have it the customer can just say they paid you and you can't prove otherwise.

The last one I had done a runner; I phoned the office who phoned the house I picked him up from and went back to where I collected him from. The guy there was only too pleased that the police were not called because of the smell of wacky baccy emanating from the front door...

A few years ago, one of our guys had a passenger who wouldn't pay while pi$$ed. Called the police who miraculously attended. When they accompanied our guy to the door, the wife answered. Our guy told the wife the story. When she asked where the pick up point was, our man replied the local red light district. On leaving the house with his money, one of the coppers said, 'you didn't tell us you picked him up from there.' No, but she doesn't know that! The incident eventually lead to the divorce court. Karma.
