That at midnight Sept 30th, VAG group, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche and all the brands owned by any of them, all vehicle engines will be shutdown by remote control!

Then, with so many cars off the road, taxis/reps/van drivers, etc, they will only be reinstated when the parent companies are forgiven for any cheats they came up with...

it could happen..............

I wonder, with all this furore over diesel, as to whether we might see duel fuel ( petrol/lpg ) make a return ? Vauxhall tried to market it but it never really took off. A few guys around hear tried it but the lack of availiability (of the fuel),restricted boot space and limited range together with price increases soon killed it off.

Check Ebay, most LPG cars are big 4x4, Range Rovers quite often, id love it, at 40p/ltr whats not to like, Proton have stuck with it on the 1.6 they now make their own engines but the car is a tad small for my liking, a mate has the 1.4 plated in Cannock

You'll be off the road when your cam shaft sensor needs changing, the boffins at Skoda have positioned it right behind the timing belt at the top of the Engine. A mate of mine is off the road all weekend due to the cam shaft sensor packing up. New cam belt and water pump even though he only had one fitted 20,000 miles ago.

I had LPG on an '02 plate Mondeo. It worked very well. I would go back to it, if necessary.

As for range, if I recall correctly, I would get about 250-300 out of a tank of LPG and about 450 out of a tank of petrol, so, potentially in excess of 700 miles!!!!

Did it have valve oiling?
Was it factory fitted?
Did it start on petrol and then switch over?

Even thi 700 miles was attainable wouldnt you want to just use gas?

BTW, LPG is about 45-60p/ltr but CNG is half that!

Yes, I had valve oiling fitted.

No, I had it fitted when the car was about 3 years old.

Yes, it started on petrol and then switched over; or I could override it and run exclusively on petrol.

I rarely used petrol; I was rarely more than 20 miles from a LPG pump, let alone 700!!!

I used to have my own bulk tank. I used to save a fortune.
