At least it'll knock Uber's plans a bit.

Just imagine though doing a day's work round town then getting a Heathrow job and running out of shilling-in-the-meter on Hammersmith flyover...

Unless UBER use an out of town vehicle

Having said that, it might well see a huge increase in the use of out-of-town vehicles which will almost certainly be lower quality than the London PHVs under current standards. Nothing to stop it though with cross-bordering changes.

So you don't think the new Mayor will reverse the policy just that the implementation date may be put back. Do you think that the types of vehicle will change from the policy of being zero emission capable?

Well apart from us, vans and other goods vehicles only have to come up to Euro 6, but that's a decision for the new mayor.

I'd be first in the Q for a range extended taxi that uses a tenner of petrol a day compared to my current £33 a day fill up, but until they prove themselves as viable vehicles that are affordable, I simply don't believe they'll be up to the job of working in London, in some cases on a 24/7 cycle with 2 or more drivers.
