In addition to the above in London there is strong evidence that Uber PHV Drivers are traveling into the London Licensing Area (Cross Border) and parking vehicles without bookings that are then being ‘virtually hailed’ via the Uber App, which shows their availability and position, so they are acting like a taxi.

yeah, but the law allows the operator to pass the job to another operator in another area - how do the LPHCA know the job hasn't bounced from the computer in the drivers own licensing area?

but of course -

“In a modern Britain there should be no "invisible borders" or "barriers to free trade", as protectionism and outdated thinking belongs to yesterday.”

in tears here

Are you saying the LPHCA said one thing to MPs on the select committee :---) :---) :---) :---) :---) , and a completely different thing to B&H councillors?

why did this application by uber need scrutinized by a committee? Is it a regular thing in Brighton? How many other PH Operator applicants have had their applications commented on by various parties in a similar way?

For those with a brain, and of course that applies to all on TDO, look up the words 'Regulatory Capture'.

If rumours are correct - another chap travelled an awful lot further

Not Mr 'I will license 100s and 100s of Berwick cabs that work elsewhere' Wilson?

Surely not. #-o

Strangest thing was the GMB union complaining about Uber's surge policy.

It must be a first for a union objecting to workers getting more money. #-o

But then again they are t***s.

I am merely suggesting there are written and signed letters stating such

I've read through the responses from the taxi and private hire trades to the uber application, I cannot say I saw a point of any relevance as to why uber should not be granted a operator license.

I truly despair
