TAXI DRIVERS SOURED TORQUAY HOLIDAY.

Having just enjoyed two weeks holiday in Torquay, I have to say only one things soured it - the taxi drivers.

It just shows what a pathetic lot they are by threatening to slash a bin man's tyres for parking for a few minutes in their taxi rank while about his legitimate duty emptying bins.

They are, of course, the same up and down the country.

The like to think they are some sort of mafia or Rambos, though Bambis would suit most of them better. It seems to me that they have one role for themselves and one for the bin man.

He can't park in their taxi rank, yet they park in the bays marked 'Loading for goods vehicles only'.

On the last day of my holiday I noticed walking down Union Street they had managed to completely fill every space in the 'goods vehicle only' bay.

Finally a message to the bin men of Torquay and around the country: your job is far more important than any taxi driver's.

I suppose we should feel sorry for them, with their lungs shrinking daily due to lack of exercise.

I suppose there's some merit in his case if you employ 'a one rule for one, another rule for the rest', but I'm surprised what he witnessed spoilt his holiday so much.

If it did then I think it's him (and family!) who have the problem :-s
