Just out of interest how do they keep it "legal" for wirral cars to work Liverpool can they prove that all the calls were received within legal parameters after all mobile technology is designed to link to the nearest mast so is that the point at which the call is received or is it the location of the computer that counts ?

This is where it gets confusing. To be granted an operators license I would say that they had to have an office within the district that takes the bookings. Does this happen, I don't know.

A tad bored so just had another look.

Same amount of cars free but the surge is happening.

2.8 times normal rate.

Who pockets the cash from the surges?

The drivers get their normal % of the total, as do Uber.

So in practice they both pocket it.

They have offices in Wirral, Liverpool, Sefton, Knowsley etc. The job comes in and the computer recognises what licence the driver has and bounces it through the computer in the appropriate office. I.e if a wirral driver is in Liverpool and a job goes to the driver it will show it has been sent via the Wirral office computer, clever things computers they do recognise borders even if it's only to make things look legitimate. I was told I could work anywhere apart from London and my work would be fed through the Wirral computer.
