Pointless rise in cab fares

IT HAS come to my attention that the council is planning to increase the Hackney black cab taxi tariff.

I cannot believe that they are even thinking about this when passengers are already paying above the private hire cabs' fees.

Once again, the people of the borough being hit with increases for no valid reason.

Having spoken to several Hackney cab drivers it is my understanding that even they do not want this increase.

If Wirral Borough Council is not making a profit on this increase, what exactly is the point in the proposal?

From my reading this guy is not a Taxi driver just a nobody with an opinion.

Probably one of the millions out there who haven't a clue what it actually costs to run a taxi and think we are raking it in

I had a cracker yesterday, "do the fares come down now the fuel is coming down?" My reply, "did the fares go up when the fuel was at £1.41 a litre?" Silence.

FFS its only going to be a 20p increase that to reduce the initial hiring of 110 yards. Probably written in by some D**K that doesn't even use taxis

Probably one of them who moans when the price of a pint goes up 1p at the local pub where he goes for a warm while, drinking a glass of dilute orange while, sucking on his Jing Ling fags that cost him £2 for a packet of twenty from the local drug dealer.

Our other costs like insurance, tyres and repairs don't ever go up of course.
