The taxi drivers with a criminal past in Luton TWO taxi drivers licensed by Luton Borough Council have criminal convictions for traffic offences.
One of the drivers has a conviction relating to a major traffic offence and the other a minor traffic offence.
The convictions were revealed after a Freedom of Information request by Luton On Sunday.
Luton Borough Council has been contacted for a comment.
There are currently 1,514 taxi drivers licensed within the Borough of Luton, made up of Private Hire, Hackney Carriage and dual licences and pending applicants.
The data only covers applications made within the last three years - the standard duration for a licence issued by the authority.
The FOI response stated: "We are unable to provide historical data relating to drivers who have convictions that may have been considered prior to 2013 and had been granted a licence if their circumstances have remained unchanged since that consideration was made."
