A train carrying Arsenal fans to the away game at Burnley ran into a herd of cows that had strayed onto the east coast main line near Peterborough. There were 11 fatalities and many of the Arsenal fans were overcome by the fumes from the blood and guts splattered up the side of the train. The line has suffered severe disruption all day with many trains cancelled or delayed by hours. Eventually all the distraught Arsenal fans were returned to London which is just as well as I doubt they would have coped that far north
