I have just had a call from a broker to tell me their best price for my insurance renewal. He finished off by saying that this was the best price I would get because the underwrighter told him he had seen the same fleet for quoting at least 10 times niow and if he saw it again he would pull the quote completely. I wouldn't mind but I have only asked 4 brokers for quotes.

i just got a letter today off enterprise insurance informing me that my insurance will be cancelled on the 27th of oct ( although it runs out in april next year) i have 2 choices now, either carry it on for the next 6 months with another company that has said they will honour the next 6 months, or take out a new 12 month policy, the bloke on the phone advised me to carry on with the next 6 months as, if everyone who is affected & decide to take out a new policy on the 27th it will be bedlam next year on the renewal dates at the office  , now as i said to the bloke on the phone , what you are saying is that you will have a years notice to prepare for that day & wont be able to cope ??  he said no , anyway, under the compensation rules i will get back 90% of my yearly policy ( even though i have only paid 6 months, how? i have no idea) but how long it takes to actually come through no one knows as its country wide issue

I thought I read it as 90% of the pro-rata premium.

Just a thought if you pay your insurance with a credit card would that have given you any protection?

Last year with enterprise we paid 929.70 per vehicle. This year our best price so far is £1008.25 per vehicle. We have had 1 small claim this year though (approx £3000).

you qualify for 90% of the remaining policy, mine started jan 1st so november 1st = 10 months cover, cost a grand so thats £800 worth leaving £200...90% = £180

if i live long enough to see it
