My own personal car insurance has doubled. Nothing has changed from last year but they've decided to double the price from £375 to over £800. It looks like I'm parking it up because there's no way in hell I'm paying over £800 to do 4,000 miles a year.

With respect, if you are only driving 4,000 mikles a year in your private car, I would say that it is uneconomic anyway. You should be using a taxi!

I never bother with a private car just use one of my taxis when i need to go somewhere seems pointless insuring and maintaining a separate vehicle

I will do I'd hate to give the corporation more money.

Adrian Flux came up trumps, under £350 for the year.

you are correct sir, my parents had a car , only used it to go shopping twice a week, the rest of the time it just stood outside, now the fare from there house to Morrisons is about £2.80-£3.20, always just give a fiver anyway , sold the car for 6k & never looked back  , its chit for parking where they live anyway & regularly had to walk down the street with the shopping , now the taxi just pulls up, hazards on, job done
