2.6 from Brighton clearly states no out of town taxis, if poober are bringing them in you have to wonder who is being bribed

2.6 is contrary to national legislation

2.6 is contrary to national legislation

It does not clearly state "no out of town taxis" it states (Clearly) "may only utilise drivers and vehicles also licensed by Brighton & Hove City Council".

CC is of course correct, but what would not conflict could be "may only utilise Private Hire drivers and Private Hire vehicles also licensed by Brighton & Hove City Council or Hackney Carriages (licensed any bloody where)".

Wasn't it stated on here that there is a condition on the operators license regarding where the drivers and vehicles can be from?

It wasn't added to the license as the local trade assumed, just a verbal confirmation by a Uber legal rep at the committee meeting.

This is what you posted on the thread when their license was granted.

"Their op license says they can only use locally licensed vehicles.

Should that then be breached, and should surge time appear, and maybe there is an issue with disabled punters, then I suspect the trade might unzip their mouths."

I know and the local trade were misled.

Uber Brighton is only using Brighton cars.

TfL cars are being booked via Uber London.

That said I'm reliably informed that serious money is being spent by the London and Provincial cab trades in funding a computer audit of the Uber booking process.

So who knows where that may lead.

But I think a bigger issue for both Uber and many more operators is the Immigration Act 2016. :-$
