Whats all this nonsense ,and has it any legal bearing in Scotland

It's not nonsense, far from it, it could be a saviour for many taxi/PH drivers in many areas.

http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/201 ... d/data.htm

And yes it does apply to you up there.

But what is it though, this being the first I have heard or read about it.
It appears that the council want to play by the rules, but won't issue a 3 year drivers badge

It has been mentioned a number of times on TDO.

Best read the act from the link above.

Nowt to do with 3 Year licences...they are still just the same, it's only when you need to renew yours at the end of a 3 year period like we normally do, they'll still be 3 years and this is a one off proof that we British ain't Illegals in our own country....mean time the country floods with illegals and we Brits get the UK inquisition at our door.

It's a waste of time, All my family history, NI number and place of Birth is all shown on my Police Enhanced Procedure Check (CRB) and on my PVG (protection of Vulnerable Groups) certificate and on my DVLA drivers license...for Feck sake can't they bloody see that???

Is the 3 year license the same in Scotland as it is in England and Wales?
My advice to anyone who is not happy to provide the details required should simply not provide them. Go and get another job where you are not required to provide the information. However you may find that you may need the information for any job, anywhere before long.

At the present time proof of right to work in UK is an employers obligation, there is many employers fell fowl of not checking a persons right to work.
I am unhappy that born and bred, never lived anywhere other than British Isles all my life that I have to prove that I have the right to work as a TAXI driver but I will abide by the rules and present the required documents.
