Mr Thick Skull, if you were any type of real Taxi driver, then you would appreciate the turning circle of a TX, but like i said before, next you will be crying about how its unfair over the typr of vehicle required for the job.

As for status, I think you have a long way to go before you achieve that.

Seeing as the 25ft turning circle is deemed "Essential"

I guess that will depend on what the judge makes of the reasoning behind that statement.

I am a London driver, and I certainly don't think a 25ft turning circle is essential.

Of course the LTI supplied 'turning circle test cab' did.
Wow what a shock there then.

I see you are on the ball again 187ums, I think this comes down to which vehicle is economically viable and best suited to the market, not which vehicle the council would like to see you drive. The Council and LTI love guys like you; everything is about how you see yourself in your little world. Some of us don’t need an expensive piece of plastic or a 25ft turning circle to prop up how we see ourselves. I bet you are one of these cabbies that think you are really something, an ambassador for the trade, and a pillar of the community. Why wouldn’t everyone want to be like you, I ask myself? Why don’t you give us all a break, everything I comment on doesn’t have to end up with you having an identity crisis?

Why don’t you go out and get a sex change or buy yourself a new dress or something, it would make a hell of a lot more sense than some of the comments you make on here.

nah Mr Thick Skull, tell you what I will do, I will give you my money so you can have a brain transplant, otherwise you can start eating fish oils, they say that they can improve the IQ of challeneged individuals, like yourself I believe.

And as for status, well look at your own comments, and you will realise what a sad, pathetic, inconsequential person you really are.

I have got bad news for the taxi trade , five people dont fit in a TX . Unless there midgets . There is no room, they are uncomfortable, Why the very thing, the turning circle limits the wheel base, and vehicle lenth . Five humans dont fit in it . Has no one noticed !. Five people with cases no chance, four people with cases no chance. three people with cases a bloody squeeze . All there good for is a few miles, with two people in . Perhaps next time they , design a cab, it will be with people in mined ,not a out dated cockney quirk, the turning circle . streetcar.

My God Streetcar what have you done, I hope 187ums doesn’t read this post his little world is already teetering on the edge. Imagine having a choice of vehicle and maybe daring to expect the vehicle to be economically viable and suited to the job, [edited by admin], it might even be designed with the customer in mind.

187ums will have you taken out and flogged for suggesting such a thing.

well, more and more drivers seem to be choosing E7 / citroen instead of LTI as replacement taxis in Plymouth.

i see more of them no than i do TX1 or TX11 around here, so they must be doing something right and not just on price.

still got a lot of metrosheds down here though...

Well Skull I am sure 187ums realizes the days of sitting on a rank ,especally during the day ,waiting for work are over . Technology has seen to that. Even he must no, we need all the help we can get .A few months ago Liverpool had the chance of the E7 but the dinosars in the trade blocked it. I would not mind ,but these were not the drivers, but the owners . All the time drivers are moaning ,about clapped out mini buses ,doing loads of work at airports etc. I will say it again . people plus cases dont fit in Tx 1 Tx2 . Why are they so arogant , why dont they make a bigger one . streetcar

Guys i hear you on the passenger side and sometimes its a squeeze, but on the whole I prefer the TX's as a pose to the bread vans, and I definetley enjoy the turning circle.

Personally I believe that as drivers you should have a choice of what you want, I know that the bread vans are more comfortable drives, but I prefer the icon.

I bought a top of the range Merc. I was a bit dissapointed. The road noise is excessive (standard to the type). You can't fit two reasonable sized people in the front seat (so its a 7 seater). But I do get approaching 40 MPG.

I can live with the bit of extra cost, and a greater than TXII turning circle. If you have to spend a lot of your life in a vehicle, its nice to have a bit of luxury, and most of the customers do appreciate it. But then I don't work Friday and Saturday nights.

Mind you, get a quote on the TXII done to V-Class finish and luxury, and that will be around the same price.
