So I fixed the starter issue on my TX2 but it feels really sluggish.

I know they're not the er, "sportiest" things in the world but this is definitely a change over the last few months. The air, fuel and oil filters are 3 months old .
When I'm doing about 20-25pmh and try to accelerate, I get very little action. I've heard there's a dead spot in 3rd gear but not really ntoiced it until now so not sure if I've got another problem or it's just the way it is?

Any ideas?

They are pretty slow, is it manual or auto? how fast does it get up to on a motorway? when you plant your foot on the accelerator.

Mine is an auto.

I can go about 80mph on the motorway but it sounds like it's going to explode.

It takes literally 45 seconds to go from 0-60 with my foot to the floor, but sometimes in the slower speeds, it's just so sluggish.

Try getting the gearbox oil and filter changed, the filter is inside the box,

Well your getting faster than me on a motorway i can only get to 70mph lol  i dont think anything is wrong there just slow! especially auto's mines sluggish also unless you plant your foot to the floor it still doesn't move very fast, and slow up hills. and especially slow if you've 5 people in the back lol.

Thanks skippy - I'll give that a go. What oil goes in there? I'm in California so not really a cold climate.

Isn't there also some kind of filter in the bottom of the fuel tank?

Mine has the overdrive, to be honest i've probably had it up to 90mph but the revs start to peak a little.

The going up hill thing now you mention it is worrying; up a steep hill, I literally can't do more than 10-15mph with my foot pressed on the floor. It's actually a problem as cops will pull you for going that slow on roads with a 35mph speed limit.

It feels like the gearbox is really sloppy? The only way I know how to describe it is like if you're driving a manual and aren't properly releasing the clutch so some of the power is not going to the flywheel. Seems like a lot of power is lost in the gear changes?

You've had it upto 90mph? There limited to 80mph aren't they?. All the autos have overdrive mine has its just 4th gear, I always have mine off anyway so it goes into 4th round town.

Maybe your torque converter is knakkered or something. Can you not take it to a auto box specialist see what they think about it?.

take it to anywhere that services auto gearboxes, once the oil is drained and internal filter changed it has to be refilled using the correct oil and to the right level, you might have to order a filter from lti or from eBay , unless they have one in stockhttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LTI-TAXI-TX1-TX2-BRAND-NEW-AUTOMATIC-GEARBOX-FILTER-AND-GASKET-/172477017150

Thanks Skippy - is it true that the grearbox filter needs to be changed once a year? I do less than 5k miles a year and mine is on less than 30k miles but I've never done that filter? Should I do it?

If you have never done it, get it done, ,it won't hurt it, and you may find it goes through the gears better

I had a similar problem once and it took the main agent several days to sus it out..eventually found it was a faulty cat convertor on the exhaust system. !
