Emirates terminates multi-million pound chauffeur contract

http://www.thechauffeur.com/emirates-te ... -contract/

Drivers who chauffeur Emirates first class and business passengers, have been told the airline will be ending the contract with Manchester based chauffeur company.

Documents seen by TheChauffeur.com reveal how Laura Murphy, from Sapphire Travel Management, the latest incarnation of PCS Chauffeurs, has notified its drivers that the company has lost the prestigious Emirates contract, to a yet unnamed company.

The message told drivers; “With deep regret I must inform you that our major customer, Emirates, has today given us notice of contract termination.”

Show For Me Limited, which trades as Sapphire Travel Management took over the contract after the collapse of PCS Events Limited following the successful corporate prosecution of the company by trading standards for a multi-million mile car clocking conspiracy.

Since then, Sapphire Travel Management which only had a fleet of a few vehicles, inherited over a hundred PCS vehicles in late November, a fleet which could be now predominately be surplus to requirements. The Emirates contract apparently accounted for around ninety percent Sapphire Travel Management’s income.

PCS Chauffeurs provided chauffeur services for Emirates for eight years for business and first class passengers out of Manchester, Newcastle and Birmingham airports.

Emirates and Sapphire Travel Management has been asked to comment on the announcement.

Would be a nice contract to have that one.

Very nice.

Ain't that the truth. I wonder how much it was worth a month? When Mick Pollard worked for them the jobs he was telling me about had me sat there open mouthed.

I'm often at Gatwick when the Emirates 380 lands. Lovely plane.

Anyway in the arrivals hall must be best part of 50/60 drivers waiting.

That's three times a day, and the contract also brings the punters to the airport.

I would think the deal would have to be at VERY competitive rates sounds like they were a right dodgy outfit anyway

Makes you wonder why they wanted to defraud the lease company when they were making a right slice each month?

Yes they were a right dodgy outfit but the rates were very good. One of my mates used to do work for them out of Birmingham and he was getting well above his own rates for the work.

The A380 real beauty is on the inside the top deck, even more so.

Oh the hours I spent in the bar at the back ( heavy sigh)

There are 76 business seats, and 14 first class on those planes.

Three a day into Gatwick eight a day into Heathrow, two into Birmingham. Is a lot of limo’s

Makes you wonder about the way Mick died.

Mick helped them set up the Emirates contract, especially as they started unlicensed.

Thank you. Reading through the topic brings home how many others used to post - that we no longer hear from.......a shame.
