PROPOSED AMMENDMENT

Quote:
(d) No person shall in a controlled district operate any vehicle, “including a hackney carriage” as a private hire vehicle without having a current licence under section 55 of this Act, “issued by the council of the area in which the operator is based”.

Interesting to look back and compare today..

I don't actually think it was a problem.

If a PH driver needs a operator's license to work independently, then why not a hackney driver?

Safe for me to say that now JD is sadly no longer with us. 8-[

Operator license is the only way of taking a booking for a private hire vehicle, the LAW allows a TAXI to be booked through the proprietor or the driver that is the difference.

She can if she is employed by you to do so and she is in the premises stated on the license.
