So my odds, if anyone wishes to place a bet on the number of restricting councils left by the end of the year, is as follows;

110+ 100/1

105-109 33/1

100-104 20/1

95-99 7/1

90-94 2/1

85-89 Evens

80-84 2/1

75-79 7/1

70-74 20/1

60-69 33/1

0-59 100/1

I placed these odds on the site in March, and it looks as if the 95-99 7/1 will be the winner by the end of the year. Thankfully no one took those odds. :D

I wonder what the favourite should be by the end of next year? My money's on 70-74.

I think theres a little insider trading going on here, considering you know that two more councils have just lifted numbers and you also know that the vast majority of those councils who have yet to decide on policy will do so in 2006. I think your predicition is a cast iron certainty and you should be banned from making any further predictions. I wouldn't be too sure about getting the numbers down to 70 though? possibly a bridge too far.......?

Regards

Well it will give me something to aim for. Image

But in saying that, I would be quite happy for just one council to de-limit over the next year (other than my own of course), providing it's a certain one in the North West run by multi-plate holders.

At the moment only 65 or 18.9% of councils restrict numbers with a further 35 or 10.2% yet to make a decision. 243 or 70.9% don't limit numbers. So no matter what happens with the 35 undecided councils there will be less then 30% of councils restricting numbers.

Thats a drop of some 50 councils in the last 18 months. T & G did a good job didn't they?

Regards

JD

But in saying that there is an outside chance it might be a big fat none.

If not in 2006, then in 2007. :D

I only care about the one parish. The rest can look after themselves.

Why should I be interested in some faded southern seaside town.

When you get your "free" plate, it truly will be worthless, you couldn't give it away. Yours will be a hollow victory, and you will rue the day.

That'll end in tears. where will he find a "partner" he can trust? Or a partner that will trust him? The last odd couple we had here, about 15 years ago, ended up in court for fighting on the rank...

Later, I'll give you my ten reasons it will go tits up...

I bet my very expensive motor to GBC's thing that the cab trade in London will continue to be restricted.

Clearly I cannot reply with the description of your average Minicab driver, I'm sure you get my drift.

I'll give you a clue, they come from near the equator.
