Passengers cut free as taxi is completely destroyed in smash

Image

Passengers had to be cut free from a taxi after the cab was completely destroyed in a serious crash with a motorbike

Dramatic images show the taxi with its roof missing and engine torn off following a smash in Bury, Greater Manchester.

Police, fire, and ambulance crews were scrambled to the scene on Manchester Road, which was closed off for five hours.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Firefighters cut out passengers who became trapped in the taxi following the crash.

They escaped with minor injuries, suffering bumps and bruises.

That’s a hell of a lot of damage just from a motorbike.

Actual crash damage probably not nearly as dramatic as in the photo - passengers had to be cut free, so at the very least the roof was probably cut off.

Motorbikes can do enormous damage especially if speed involved

saw one on M11 last year had completely stoved in the rear doors of a van and embedded in the front bulkhead.

massive delays due to rubbernecking   as i recall

I realise that, I was thinking more about the engine being torn off.

Not so sure about that either - suspect author of piece may have confused motorbike's engine with that of car
