Slight difference from the normal crackdown here - wonder what kind of "anti-social use " of taxis pub doormen were complaining about?

Darlington taxi crackdown on antisocial behaviour and speeding

TAXIS have been pulled over in Darlington to crackdown on speeding and anti-social behaviour.

Operation Mahlia saw two taxi companies reported for licensing offences on Saturday in the town centre and eight verbal warnings were given following complaints of speeding.

The operation was led by the Darlington neighbourhood team with the Road Policing Unit, Darlington Borough Council and the Taxi Licensing Unit.

A police spokesman said: “The operation was conducted following a number of complaints from members of the public and door staff. Speeding and anti-social use of vehicles becoming the main issue on a weekend with those enjoying a night out being put at risk.”

Oh, drivers here must be quite angelic then O:)

To be fair there is an element of all that, but the overanking and other undesirable stuff is slightly away from the gaze of pub doormen. And some of the drivers just abandon their car on the rank and disappear into pubs and takeaways if they need the lavvy [-X
