So remind me, what is the before and after number of taxi drivers in Sheffield jimbo, because I can't ever recall seeing the figures.

Have you been keeping them secret? :-$

A quick look at Sheffield Council website shows an increase of 300 Hackney with no rise or fall in PH numbers

Perhaps they were journey folk, who now can license their own motors and work when they like, not when other folk like.

I think it's called being self-employed.

The discussion was about the number of drivers, not vehicles, so what does the increase in the latter prove as regards drivers?

The point I've been continually making is that there's such an obsession with vehicle numbers that it's often difficult to as much as find info on driver numbers, which show the truer picture.

Another waste of time on this thread :?

So call sheffield and ask. But those three hundred extra cabs are not driving themselves.

Exactly, which is why I can never understand why folks like you bang on about the number of cabs, because as you say, they don't drive themselves.

Took a few years, but I knew we would get there. \:D/

Exactly What?

There are too many cabs in Sheffield. Ask the trade there.

Even I worked that one out, but it still says nothing about driver numbers.

More cabs +More drivers = less average takings. How could it be any other way?

As has been stated before the number of cabs is irrelevant.

Thus your formula is fundamentally flawed ( :D ), as you can have 1000's of extra cabs, but without drivers they don't go too far.
