Mr Roadrage (a nickname for one of our less savoury local drivers) he is always beeping or shouting at other drivers for not moving forward on the rank the instant space is available

well today he was behind me I pulled forward but he despite being well aware the space was there didn't bother then suddenly out of the blue an Uttlesford plated PH appears and tries to reverse park between the two suddenly he tries to move his car forward and starts shouting his mouth off and beeping

I politely tried to explain to the out of town PH that he couldn't park there who then moaned at me well where can I park

But to be fair if the drivers had behaved it would not have happened it isn't one rule for one and another for everyone else

Are they allowed to take the plates on and off an HC like that?

Rules state:-

Plate to be fixed permanently on holder on car
Door signs STUCK on level with rear door handles
Badges to be WORN
Meters to be used on all journeys from start
ID badge to be displayed on dash
Rooflight to be on car at all times

However with no licensing enforcement................. #-o

Heres one

When the 1st Audi got plated the driver discovered the doors were aluminium so his magnets wouldnt stick, the rules say "stuck to doors at handle height" so he goes to licensing to plead......they let him put the signs on the rear quarter panels then he STICKS then on..... #-o

People who pull up in a queue of traffic at lights, then, just as you stop behind them and put your handbrake on creep forward another 10 feet !

So the normal location for the plates is on the rear door?

Is that in addition to normal rear-mounted plates, or is it just door-mounted plates?

Worse still, drivers who do that on the rank

Of course, there could be good reasons for that, but pretty sure one or two here do that kind of thing on purpose :-s

Or move up the rank at about the same speed as I could push the motor up the rank ](*,)

"door signs" on door plus plate on rear holder
