Not sure if these might be the same perps, but roughly in the same area. The piece does specifically refer to the Dudley robberies at the end, so may be unrelated incident. Perps here probably a bit older though :?

Taxi drivers smashed by masked hammer gang in 48-hour crime wave

Alert sent out to Black Country cabbies following spate of violent attacks

A taxi driver was smashed with a hammer during a 48-hour crime wave on Black Country cabbies.

The driver was cornered in Coney Green, a small cul-de-sac in Stourbridge before being attacked and robbed by a masked gang.

The victim was smashed in his arm with a hammer before being threatened with an axe.

His attackers demanded his mobile phone and cash but, in the end, took around £20 in cash.

An operator for taxi firm ABM taxis told us: "A driver was blocked in a cul-de-sac by a car that had followed him in.

"He was called out to a job and they've smashed his window and demanded his phone and money.

"I think they got about 20 quid of out him. They struck his arm. It happened about 11.30pm last night. We need better protection."

An alert was sent out to taxi drivers in Stourbridge last night, which said: "Please be vigilant as an ABM driver has just been seriously attacked."

Also, in nearby Dudley, three drivers were attacked.

The beauty of kids/youths getting arrested for this is (if they are guilty) they will drop their mates in it very quickly.

But due to their age (if they are guilty) the sentence will be very lenient compared to the sentence given in an adult court.
