This piece comes to a bit of an abrupt end, but that's all there is on the website :?

Amazon delivery driver given cab licence despite driving at Glasgow hospital security guard

https://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/news/175 ... ity-guard/

AN AMAZON delivery driver has been granted a cab licence for one year despite purposely driving into a security guard at Gartnavel Hospital injuring him.

Syed Shah, who has had his driver’s licence for 15 years, was disqualified from driving for six months and fined £300 for bruising the man’s shins following a heated argument over parking spaces in 2014.

Mr Shah was also caught driving with defective tyres and had his licence endorsed as a result.

The issue was discussed at Glasgow City Council’s licensing board.

Councillor Alex Wilson said: “It says you drove into him, were found guilty and disqualified for six months.

“If we grant you a taxi driver’s licence we need to know the taxi is safe to be on the road not just you.”

Glasgow does seem to be the place to get licensed if you've a dodgy history

Or maybe they do their dirty washing in public, rather then in private as most councils do.

Or maybe more a case of local press being more likely to report these things, as per Bolton.

Maybe, but I suspect these decisions are delegated to officials in most areas, thus they never make it to committee.
